AI for Behavioral and Emotional Support in Special Education
Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping behavioral and emotional support systems in special education, offering personalized and scalable interventions tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities. AI-powered tools, such as emotion recognition systems, virtual agents, and adaptive learning platforms, provide real-time feedback, behavior monitoring, and emotional regulation strategies. This paper explores the role of AI in enhancing behavioral and emotional support in special education, focusing on its applications, benefits, and challenges. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study evaluates the effectiveness of AI-driven interventions and identifies strategies for ethical and equitable implementation. The findings highlight AI’s potential to foster emotional well-being and improve educational outcomes for students in special education.
