Abstract

AI-powered assistive technologies are revolutionizing patient communication by bridging gaps in understanding, accessibility, and personalization. These tools leverage advancements in natural language processing (NLP), machine learning (ML), and speech recognition to facilitate seamless interactions between patients and healthcare providers. This paper explores the applications of AI in assistive communication, focusing on speech-to-text systems, real-time language translation, and predictive conversational agents. By addressing challenges such as language barriers, hearing impairments, and cognitive difficulties, AI enables more inclusive and effective communication. The study also examines ethical considerations, including data privacy and bias, and proposes strategies for ensuring equitable access to these technologies. Findings indicate significant improvements in patient satisfaction, adherence to treatment plans, and overall healthcare outcomes.
